Installing a New Version the Box Office App [Beta]

We have a new version that requires a small process to be installed in the tablet.  This is a 3 step process:  

  1. Uninstall previous version
  2. Download new version
  3. Install the new version

All connectivity with Printers or Card Readers should not be affected by this as long as you don’t unpair them from the tablet.

Uninstall previous version

  1. Go to the app icon
  2. Tap and keep pressing the icon until you get t following options
  3. Tap on Uninstall
  4. Confirm that you want to uninstall this app
  5. The icon will be gone

Download the app to the tablet

  1. Go to your email (where you received this PDF first) within the tablet.
  2. Copy and paste or open the following link (also attached to the email) in the tablet with a browser: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Nv8gs4PQomJmY9eVOM_a4Dig0BW4Ud2b?usp=drive_link
  3. Tap on the file “Milestone-2-stable.apk”  to download it.  
  4.  Tap on download when the “No preview available” screen appears
  5. It will take you to a warning about Google not being able to scan for viruses, tap on “Download anyways”
  6. Accept the second warning again: “Download anyway”

Install the new version

  1. Go to the “My files” on the tablet. Tap it and open it.
  2. Go to Downloads in the left menu
  3. You’ll find the recently downloaded “Milestone-2-stable.apk” file. Tap on it.
  4. Tap on “Install” and let it install - can take up to 1 minute
  5. Once it is installed, tap on “Open”
  6. The app will open normally.
  7. Accept location permissions to “While using the app”
  8. Accept bluetooth permissions to connect to nearby devices to “Allow”.
  9. Log in normally with MFA, and you should be good to go!
