What does void mean?
A voided payment plan represents an incomplete payment plan which has been cancelled; customer will not be charged for any remaining payments. Once a payment plan has been voided, it cannot be undone.
Possible Void Causes
An incomplete payment plan may be cancelled (voided) if:
- it's fully refunded or the face value is fully refunded
- a chargeback is filed (regardless of the chargeback resolution)
- customer requests it
- the event is cancelled
- it is not paid off up to 1 week after the event's start date, or last date in case of multi-day events.
Note: if you'd want visibility of the payment plan statuses before they switch to void after the event date, we recommend downloading a Payment Plan orders report within 1 week of the event completing.
What happens after the payment plan is voided?
Order Details
- Any upcoming payments won’t be charged.
- There will be no option to reinstate.
- The payment plan will show as “Voided”
- The void action is visible in the Audit Trail
Ticket Status
- For Payment Plan tickets voided manually or post event, the ticket status will reflect the payment plan void, and be accounted as such in reporting.
- For Payment Plan tickets voided due to refund or chargeback, the ticket status will reflect as chargedback or refunded, and be accounted as such in reporting.
- If the chargeback is resolved in your favor (won) – and as long as there are no other chargebacks lost or pending resolution – the chargeback status will be removed, but keep in mind that the plan was voided when the chargeback was received so it cannot be reinstated or paid off.
Reporting & Live Stats
- Voided payment plan tickets will be included in the "Payment Plans" live stats, except if they are in refunded or chargedback status. These are included as part of the "Reversals".
- While the event is on sale, Payment Plan stats will reflect a breakdown of payment plans completed, making payments, failed, expired and voided (per customer request). 1 week after the event start date, any payment plan that was not completed will be canceled, and now be shown as part of the "Void" count.
- Voided payment plan tickets will be included in the "Payment Plan Orders" report, except if they are in refunded or chargedback status.
- Voided Payment Plan tickets – except if they are refunded or chargedback – are not considered in "Sold" counts, however they are pulled out of the available allotment.
FAQs
Can a void be reversed or the payment plan reinstated?
No, all voids are final.
If the chargeback on the payment plan resolves in my favor, can the plan be reinstated?
No. If the chargeback is won – and as long as there are no other chargebacks lost or pending resolution – the chargeback status will be removed, however since the plan was voided/canceled when the chargeback was received, it cannot be reinstated.
How does the post event void work?
Any payment plan that remains incomplete (not fully paid-off) after 1 week of the event start date – or latest start day for pass events – will be automatically voided.
The forgiveness days and grace periods are not affected before the mentioned timeframe.
If my event is postponed and I don't have a new date yet, will payment plans be canceled after 1 week of the current event date?
In case of postponement, please reach out to your Client Service Manager as soon as possible so they make the necessary adjustments and payment plans will remain intact. Once a new date(s) is added to the event, it will be used as the new starting point for the automated 1 week post event void.
